Dr. Stone's research interests are in the ecological engineering aspects of riverine processes. His goal is to improve understanding of the quantitative influences of abiotic parameters (river form, nutrient content, temperature, sediment load, oxygen content, and contaminant load) on ecological processes. Specific interest is in engineering applications to restoration and management impacts in urban, forested, agricultural, and impounded settings. Experience is primarily in field observations and numerical investigations related to fish passage at hydroelectric dams.
