Research Interests:

Research interests include the fields of hydrochemistry (particularly nitrate contamination of ground water), chemical limnology, sedimentary geochemistry, paleolimnology (including paleoclimate research), ecology, geothermal and Antarctic research, and hydrogeology. His current projects involve determining nitrogen budgets in Spanish Springs and Douglas County, determining the sources of endocrine disrupting compounds to aquatic organisms in Lake Mead, leading the Nevada portion of the USGS National Water Quality Assessment Program, and working with Dr Laurel Saito on a NATO funded project in Uzbekistan to determine if shallow lakes in Khorezm can be used for fisheries or other useful purposes.

Research topics:
Geochemistry
Limnology
Paleohydrology
Scaling of Hydrological Processes
