Research focuses on hydrologic applications of fiber optic distributed temperature sensing (DTS) equipment, especially to identify and quantify areas of hyporheic exchange in a third-order mountain stream. Other DTS applications include snow temperature studies, evaporation and drainage measurements, and analysis of convection currents in air and water.
