Research Interests:

Dr. Chen's research experience and interests include numerical studies on turbulent flow, sediment transport, riverbank erosion, and channel migration processes. He has developed a physical-based bank erosion and retreat model (BERM) that takes into account flow parameters, sediment transport parameters, heterogeneity of bank materials, vegetation influence, and bank geometry.
